He regularly attends theatre with the NEUROSPINE Institute surgeons to better understand spinal anatomy, the mechanics of injury and to optimise his rehabilitation effectiveness. Working closely with the spinal surgeons in theatre leads to better patient outcomes post surgery.
The key focus area of Jo’s spinal rehabilitation is to understand the patient cause of pain. Once this is established, an effective rehabilitation program can be implemented to desensitise the spine, improve core strength and muscle endurance to stabilise the spine and return the patient back to functional movement safely with reduce risk of injury post surgery.
He has worked in multiple industries in including international car manufacturing, national power companies and the mining industry, where he implemented injury prevention and wellness programs.
Jo has extensive mining experience working in both underground and open cut mines.
