Frequently Asked Questions
Will you provide a specialist consultation to me if I do not have Private Health Insurance?
Neurospine Institute will only accept patients with Private Health Insurance, or patients that have Worker’s Compensation or MVA claims.
What is our current wait time to see a surgeon?
We know that wait times can be difficult and less than ideal. As a holistic service offering, we have treatment options in place to begin your care journey with us before you see a Consultant, which includes Physiotherapy, Nurse Practitioner, Psychology, Pain Medicine Specialist and Occupational Health services that are available sooner.
Due to our internal triaging process, most Neurospine Institute issued referrals have an approximate wait time of 2 months to be seen once received. However, our Surgeons have individual wait times that might range from 2 – 12 months. Please contact your surgeon’s specific rooms for further clarification. Contact our team here.
If you have had an acute disc injury and meet the clinical requirements to utilise our priority review service, we invite you to submit a valid GP referral here.
What private health cover do I require?
Spine Surgery with your insurance policy’s waiting period completed.
What are your consult fees to see a Surgeon?
A new patient consult fee is $530 and follow up appointments to see one of our Surgeons are $300. You may be entitled to rebates. We do offer concessional rates for pensioners and health care card holders – please speak to your surgeon’s secretary for further information.
For consultation fees for any of our other services, please contact our rooms as prices vary depending on the service offering.
Does Neurospine Institute charge a gap fee?
We are a private billing company and we will issue a surgical estimate with a gap fee to all Health fund patients. There will be an out of pocket expense.
How do I get an appointment?
Please email your referral to info@neurospineinstitute.com.au. Please find referral form here – For Referrers. Your referral will be passed to the relevant Secretary and our team will be in contact within 10 business days. If you do not hear from us by this time, we invite you to ring us on 1300 NEUROSPINE to discuss your referral further.
